Cobb salad with buttermilk ranch dressing

This summer-ready salad is filled with fresh ingredients and served with a savoury buttermilk ranch dressing!

Ingredients

head Boston lettuce

pint cherry tomatoes

cups grilled chicken, sliced
½
cup blue cheese, crumbled
8
slices bacon, cooked
1
avocado, sliced
2 to 4
boiled eggs, peeled and cut in half

Buttermilk Ranch Dressing

½
cup mayonnaise
cup buttermilk, well-shaken before measuring
1
tbsp lemon juice
2
tsp dijon
1
very small garlic clove, grated or pureed
¼
cup chives or dill, snipped (or both)

Instructions

  1. Whisk the dressing ingredients together in a small bowl. 
  2. Transfer to a mason jar and chill at least 1 hour before serving.
  3. To assemble the salad, arrange the lettuce on 4 shallow, wide bowls. 
  4. Place all the toppings on a large platter with lots of serving spoons. 
  5. Serve the dressing alongside in a small pitcher so everyone can assemble their own preferred combination.
