Pretzel bread bowl

There's nothing more comforting than a nice bread bowl for your favourite soup, stew, or chilli.

Ingredients

Millilitres Water, at 95 degrees

Grams Honey

Grams Yeast

Grams Bread flour

Grams EVOO

Grams Kosher salt

Grams Flour, for dusting

Grams Honey

Tablespoon Baking soda

Instructions

  1. Mix yeast, water and honey together. Let sit until form develops (5min)
  2. To the mixing bowl add flour, starter, and water yeast mix.
  3. Mix on number 2 for 8 minutes. Add salt, and olive oil. Mix for another 5 minutes until smooth.
  4. Remove and portion into 5. Roll into balls and let proof in a warm place for 20 minutes.
  5. Place in boiling water mixture. For 90 seconds. Remove and place on a lined baking tray. Season with sea salt and bake for 25 minutes at 425 degrees.
  6. Remove and let rest on a baking rack.
  7. Let cool, cut off the top and hollow out. (Save bread for dipping)
  8. Fill with beef stew or potato soup.
