INGREDIENTS
- 1 lb ground beef
- 6 strips bacon
- 2 hot Italian sausage casing removed
- 5 cloves garlic sliced
- 1 white onion diced
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 red chilli
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup mustard
- 1 delicious beer
- 2 cups beef stock
- 1 can tomatoes chopped
- Splash olive oil
- 1 heavy salt and pepper
Dogs
- 10 all beef franks natural casing
- 10 buns steamed
- 20 slices American Cheddar
METHOD
- Bring a large stockpot up to heat and sear meat in olive oil. Break it down into small pieces.
- Caramelize beef, onion, garlic, paprika and chilli pepper. Deglaze with beer. Add tomatoes, ketchup, mustard and beef stock.
- Simmer with the lid on for 2 hours.
- Season and let rest.
These hot dogs and buns make for the ideal trio!
- Steam, poach or grill the dogs.
- Steam the bun and place 2 pieces of American cheddar in a bun. Top with the dog and top with a beautiful serving of chilli.
