Saucy black beans

Ingredients
1 tbsp
canola oil
1
onion, finely chopped
1/4 tsp
salt
2 cloves
garlic, minced
1 tbsp
chili powder
1 tsp
cumin
pinch
cinnamon
1 can
black beans, drained and rinsed
Instructions
- Heat oil in a small pot over medium. Add onion and salt and cook for about 5 minutes or until softened. Add garlic and cook another minute. Add spices and cook 30 seconds. Add beans, then add half a can of water. Bring to a boil then simmer, stirring often, 10 minutes.
- Purée with an immersion blender if desired.
- Serve over rice or in taco shells or wraps with fresh tomatoes, onions, avocado and shredded cheese.
