Guyanese Pepperpot With Homemade Plait Bread

Ingredients
3 lb
beef
1 tbsp
vegetable oil
1 cup
onion
5 sprigs
thyme
1 tbsp
brown sugar
5-6
cloves
2x3"
peels of orange
3 tsp
salt
4 cups
hot water
1/4 cup
cassareep

Wiri Wiri Peppers
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large pot on medium heat and add meat. Once golden brown, add onion, cinnamon, thyme, cloves, brown sugar, orange peel and salt. Sautee for several minutes while stirring
- Add hot water and cassareep and stir to incorporate. Add wiri wiri peppers. Bring to a gentle boil and reduce to a simmer.
- Cook for 3-4 hours, until meat, is tender.
- Remove from heat, serve with Plait Bread and enjoy.
