Homemade holiday egg nog

Ingredients

separated eggs
1/3 cup
maple (or white) sugar
1 1/2 cups
heavy cream (or whole milk)
1/4 tsp
nutmeg
1/2 tsp
cinnamon
2 tbsp
vanilla extract
1 cup
whiskey
Instructions
- In a medium size pot on medium low heat add milk, cream, nutmeg, cinnamon, and vanilla. Do not bring to simmer!
- In a stand mixer blend maple sugar with egg yolks until frothy.
- Add dairy mixture slowly to egg yolks (tempering)
- Put the mixture back into the pot on medium low heat until a temperature of 185 degrees f and remove.
- Whisk egg whites with maple sugar until stiff peaks are created.
- Gently whisk into to the dairy mixture and add your whiskey.
- Chill for 2 hours and serve.
