INGREDIENTS
- 1 bottle Dry Red Wine
- 1/4 cup Dark Maple Syrup
- 3 Star Anise
- 2 Cinnamon Sticks
- 6 Cloves
- 3 Black Cardamom Pods
- 1 Orange
- 1/2 cup Bourbon
METHOD
- Add wine, maple syrup, whole spices, orange juice and peel to a large pot over low heat.
- Keep the heat at the lowest temperature as you do not want this to simmer or boil – just gently warm up. After 45 minutes, add bourbon.
- Ladle into glasses and garnish with more cinnamon sticks and fresh orange peels.
