3 elevated cold cocktails for summer

Remember when we were kids and we enjoyed slushies, floaties, popsicles and every other summertime treat? We didn’t stop enjoying them… we just like to give it a little spike now and again. Desserts expert Jyoti Nanra shares how to bring the nostalgia out with these childhood classics — with a boozy spin.

Ingredients

Frosé Slushie

1 bottle
rosé
1/2 cup
sugar
1 cup
frozen strawberries
1 cup
frozen watermelon
1/4 cup
lemon juice

Spiked Cold Brew Floatie

3 cups
cold brew
1/4 cup
milk
1/2 cup
Baileys
1/4 cup
vodka
chocolate syrup
whipped cream

Fruity Mimosa Popsicle

1 bottle
champagne
fresh orange juice
raspberries

Instructions

Frosé Slushie Method: 
  1. Add all the ingredients to a blender and blend.
  2. Transfer the blender jug to the freezer for 25-35 minutes.
  3. Blend again and serve.
Spiked Cold Brew Floatie Method: 
  1. Fill a jug with milk, Bailey’s, and vodka.
  2. Swirl chocolate syrup in 3-4 mason jars or glasses, and top each with ice.
  3. Fill with desired amount of cold brew and top with spiked mixture.
  4. Top with whip.
Fruity Mimosa Popsicle Method: 
  1. Fill each popsicle mold with raspberries and muddle them.
  2. Top with orange juice and freeze overnight.
  3. Pop each popsicle into a champagne flute and top with bubbles.
