“Hot in Herrre” Wontons

Delicious, easy to make, and no-mess Wontons!

This is my mom’s recipe, it’s easy to cook and leaves almost no mess! Everyone loves a dumpling and almost every culture has a variation of it. This is a great way to share our different cultures – I have so many in my family and it’s perfect for a potluck!
Ingredients
Wontons
1 package
(square) Wonton Wrappers
8 oz
Minced pork
8 oz
(deveined/de shelled) Raw shrimp
1
(chopped finely) Spring onion
1 oz
(peeled and chopped finely) Ginger root
Instructions
Prep & Assembly
- Add all wonton ingredients to mixing bowl, mix thoroughly with utensils or hands
- Using a teaspoon, add wonton mixture to wrapper
- With fingertips, grab all ends of wrapper, bunch and dab water, press to seal
- Place on plate or sheet with light flour
- Repeat
- In a medium pot, fill with water and bring to a boil
- Once boiled, turn the heat down to a simmer
- Add wontons gently into water, 8-10 at a time
- Allow wontons to cook 5-7 minutes or until they float to the top
- Remove and strain
- In a separate pot bring broth up to temperature
- In 1 cup of broth, add cooked wontons in serving bowl, garnish with chopped spring onions
- Add all dipping sauce fluids in the side dish, add ginger to top
- Serve with dipping sauce
