Arren Williams loves his job! As a stylist, décor editor, and leading industry trend consultant his work appears in Canada’s top style mags and newspapers – Flare Magazine (he’s the Contributing Editor for Décor), The National Post, Canadian House & Home and Canadian Family. On the commercial side you can see Arren’s work styling and propping everything from roomsets to tabletops for clients like the Home Depot, Kraft and Benjamin Moore.
In ’08 he launched a design blog – www.arrenwilliams.com – which was chosen as one of House & Home magazine’s top blog picks in their Jan ’09 Trend issue. His blog, dubbed Design Lab, is now one of Canada’s top design blogs, garnering an audience across the country as well as around the world.
He describes his first on-camera experience as like ‘Jumping out of a plane’, but since then has had fun appearing on Kitchen Equipped, The Mom Show, The Style Dept. and as a regular guest expert on Citytv’s Cityline covering design and style.
For Arren, style is a family business – his sister is a fashion designer and trend reporter and brother a typography designer. They credit this creativity to being shipped off as kids to a country manor house that doubled as a hippy art colony, where they marbled paper in Victorian clawfoot tubs, painted in the grand ballroom and fired pottery between the flower beds.
Now he gets to scout trend-forward style for a living, keeping a sharp eye out for the brightest and newest in the world of design.
