Knee Pain Symptoms can occur to people of all ages (not just the older) and the most common causes of knee pain are related to injury, age, or repeated stress on the knee. Many types of minor knee pain respond well to self-care measures and knee strengthening.
Doing things like squats and lunges can aggravate your knee pain. It can get frustrating because you want to strengthen your knee but don’t know what exercises to do. The important thing is to strengthen the muscles around the knee joint (the quads, the hamstring, and the hips). It’s also important to look at your hips and ankles joints as well. If they are tight and weak it will affect your knee. There are ways you can strengthen your knee without any pain.
Here are 5 knee-friendly exercises that you can start doing today!
1. Isometric contraction of the knee
This doesn't look like much, but it's about firing the quad muscles and learning to establish a mind miscue connection. Do 3 sets of 10 and hold for 3 seconds.
2. Hip flexion
lift the leg from the hip while the quad is contracted, keep the leg straight. Do 2 sets of 10.
3. Short arch knee extension
Use a towel or foam roller.
4. Bridge
Straighten the hamstrings and squeeze the glute.
5. Hip side raise
Strengthen the abductor, do it on both sides.
Do all of these exercises 3-4 times a week to see improvements.

3 Curvy Girl Style Hacks To Get You The Perfect Fit
[bc_video video_id="6275069071001" account_id="2226196965001" player_id="rkljM4WDEg"]
When you’re curvy, it can be hard to find clothing that looks flattering AND fits your shape, but it is possible!
In fashion, there are sizes and there are curves (You can have curves at any size). People tend to upsize without knowing how to dress their curves or wear loose clothing to cover up their curves.
Clothing can be more flattering when you look for elements that adjust to your body - you may even find yourself downsizing. Don’t get stuck on size, look for elements like stretch, ties, elastic bands, and high waists
Here are three of my hacks for curly girls to help you always look and feel your best.
Hack #1 focus on the fit, not the size
- Stretchy materials: dresses and jeans grow and shrink with you. My tip is to search for Elastane or Stretch in the description.
- Ties: help customize your clothes to your body. Ties are great if you have a pouch you want to minimize.
- Elastic Bands: great for bigger thighs and bums, because they stretch over the thighs hugs your waist there will be no gaps.
- Petite women: consider ankle-length pants/ cropped pants + crop tops
- High waists/empire waists & crunching: cinch the waist, elongate the body, smooth over the belly
- We wear bras to hold the girls up, shapewear is a great tool for smoothing
- Spanx Oncore - doesn’t roll up and there is a hole to use the washroom
- Tailor the waist of jeans - great for women with bigger thighs and bums and smaller waists
- Shoulder tuck for those with bigger chests and smaller shoulder

4 Ways to Make Fall Basics Look Chic
[bc_video video_id="6275070943001" account_id="2226196965001" player_id="rkljM4WDEg"]
We all have our fall staple pieces, but it can be difficult to style them in a way that is exciting, and dare I say, chic. I am going to show you 4 fall looks where many of the pieces I’m showing can be mixed and matched to make a fun fall capsule wardrobe.
Look 1: Classic white tee
- We all have a white tee in our closet, typically pair it with jeans (which is totally okay!)
- To make it chic, we’re ditching the denim and going for wide-leg pants (helps to balance out large hips and thighs for the curvy ladies)
- Choose a fun colour
- Still like to keep it casual with sneakers

Look 2: Blazer- Many of us own black blazers – they go with everything
- To make it chic, wear it with a slip dress (a great way to transition dresses to the fall)
- I went for leopard print - animal print is trendy right now (believe it or not, the leopard can be worn as a neutral because it works with so many colours)
- Belted the blazer to give me shape
- Sweater vests and button-ups are a classic, preppy look
- To make it look chic, I chose a sweater vest that’s slightly cropped to emphasize the smallest part of my waist (navy goes with everything, slightly more colourful than black)
- Oversized blouse in silk feels more elegant than cotton and is less stiff
- Slimmer-fit cargo pants instead of jeans or trousers – more pockets = more fun!
- Monochromatic outfits look expensive and like you put the effort in, even if you didn’t
- Chelsea boots for comfort
- Turtlenecks look good on their own but work really well layered under dresses for fall
- Ribbed turtleneck for texture
- Under a blazer-like dress
- Switch the fabric belt that comes with a dress or jacket for a stylish leather/faux-leather belt
- Tall boots to keep your legs warm
