How To Make The Perfect Stovetop Espresso
[bc_video video_id="6283223163001" account_id="2226196965001" player_id="rkljM4WDEg"]
To make coffee using a Moka Pot or stovetop espresso, the coffee to water ratio should be 1:9, and the coffee grinds fine-medium. For this method, I like to use the Bialetti Moka Express 6 Cup.

How to Make Coffee Using a French Press
[bc_video video_id="6283223163001" account_id="2226196965001" player_id="rkljM4WDEg"]
For this recipe, we want the coffee to water ratio to be: 1:12. The water temp should also be 204°F, or just under full boiling temperature, and grind the coffee to medium-coarse. My favourite french press is the Canadian-designed Espro unit.

How To Use The Right Brush For Your Makeup
[bc_video video_id="6281487613001" account_id="2226196965001" player_id="rkljM4WDEg"]
Are you confident in what your makeup brushes can do for you? Here’s the thing, a lot of us have collected quite a few tools and brushes over the years. They end up at the bottom of our makeup bag, or the back of our drawer, uncleaned. And then we pick one up after a while and forget what it’s for, right?
Here is a refresher course on what those brushes at the bottom of our makeup bags can actually do.
Brush #1: Angle Brush
Angle brushes come in various different sizes and come in synthetic or natural bristles. You can use them in the eyebrows, eyeliner wet or dry, cream liner, or even on your lips to get a really precise line.

Brush #2: Fan Brush
A fan brush is fluffy and dense. The loser bristled fan brushes can be used for highlighter on the high plains of the face. The denser version of this brush can be used for contour. Mini fan brushes can also be used to apply mascara.

Brush #3: Square Brush
If you are a beginner with eyeliner you can use this brush as a stamp.

Brush #4: Cosmetics Dual Ended Brush
This brush is one of my go-to's. I love this brush. The dual-ended brush is amazing because you can use it for blush and eyeshadow, or foundation and concealer.

Brush #5: Crease Brush
Crease brushes come in all shapes and sizes. Normally they are more of a natural bristle and they are very fluffy. Usually, when you are putting a darker colour in your crease you don't want it to go on as dark. The crease brush allows you to blend it out nicely into your crease so that it is controlled and clean. The crease brush is also good for controlled powdering if you need to put powder just around the nose or under the eyes.

[bc_video video_id="6281479819001" account_id="2226196965001" player_id="rkljM4WDEg"]
It’s coming… winter is around the corner. Soon we’ll be shovelling our driveways and making snow angels. To prepare yourself, here are the trendiest boots of the season.
1. 90s Grunge
Combat boots
- Combat boots are comfortable and always a winter staple of mine.
- The latest vegan Dr. Martens don't have the yellow stitching making them look more chic and polished, plus they last for a long time.
- The brown boots here are a bit taller and have a zipper on the side making them easy to remove.
- I love Chelsea boots for the winter because they have a thicker sole and heel.
- A Chelsea boot has side panelling and pull tabs to make it easy to take on and off.
- The green mid-calve boots have deep grooves that help with traction in the winter.
- The white boots by Madden Girl are sleek and have a nice contrast between white and black.
- We’re seeing sequins and shine for fall womenswear and fall footwear is no exception.
- These red Brocade ankle boots have a beautiful square toe and zip closure within.
- The sparkly boot is so fun and will compliment any outfit.
- I also love these hunter boots with a gloss finish that elevates them.
- The boots also have elegant quilted detail and a strap to adjust them in the back.
- This is a perfect boot if you struggle to find boots that fit your calves as they adjust to fit you!
- The knee-high and above-the-knee boots.
- We are now seeing the reemergence of the tall boot trend.
- These python boots are very much a statement boot and you can even style them with a wider leg cropped pant to still see a portion of the boot.
- These Steve Madden Riding boots have an inside zipper and stretchy material to fit different calve sizes.

5 Stylish Ways to Rock a Monochromatic Look
[bc_video video_id="6281479166001" account_id="2226196965001" player_id="rkljM4WDEg"]
We love fashion that makes a statement and what's a better way to do that, than by rocking a monochromatic look! Monochromatic looks involve taking different textures but you are staying within the same colour hue. Texture adds dimension to a simple look making monochromatic one of my favourite trends this year.
People usually choose neutrals when wearing monochrome, but over the years we’ve seen bolder, brighter colours being worn from head-to-toe. It may seem like monochromatic outfits take less effort to put together, but they can be pretty tricky to get right, so I’m here to help!
Outfit 1: Monochromatic Forest Green
- The number one thing to remember when putting together a monochromatic outfit is to play with materials, textures and proportions to add visual interest.
- The pieces in this look are a very similar colour but incorporate a lot of different textures/materials – adding dimension to the outfit.
- Hits the chunky boot + faux leather trend.
- Always consider your proportions - here I chose slim pants to go with the puffier jacket and chunky shoes.
- Monochromatic outfits make a statement. The best part is it can also help you look taller and slimmer because the similar colours help create one seamless line from head to toe.
- You can also use the different shades in the same colour family to emphasize or minimize parts of your body.
- Monochrome has been all over the runways and in celeb fashion for a while now – during the 2021 Inauguration, we even saw many attendees wearing monochromatic looks. (This one is inspired by Michelle Obama’s plum outfit.)
- A power suit is an easy way to pull off monochrome (since you already have two pieces of your look ready)
- Monochrome doesn’t have to be all solid colours – add something patterned in the same colour family to break up the look.
- When done well, monochromatic outfits make you look classy and put together, especially when you opt for neutral colours.
- I love cream colours for the fall season
- For this look, I went with a simple white turtle neck and a skirt with texture.
- Hits the quilted jacket + faux leather trend.
- A solid, all-black outfit counts as monochromatic but if you’re wanting to make more of a quiet statement or want to wear a colour that’s less harsh, opt for pieces in the navy-blue colour family.
- Silky skirt, faux snakeskin bag, wool jacket = playing with texture
- The light blue bag adds a little pop even though it’s the same colour family
