Fashion expert Janice Meredith shows how you can step out in style this fall with the top-trending footwear of 2022! We all know this is that time of year again... and we love it.
Platform Sneakers
- Sneakers are still a key component of outfits for fall
- The lift can be wrapped and therefore subtle or more noticeable with the colour and materials shift.
- Same styling options as a regular sneaker but just with a little extra height!
- This boot is a great transitional piece
- From mini skirts and cut offs then dresses for cooler days.
- Don’t get too costumey with the rest of your outfit
- Full range from full classic silhouette to more subtle version
- No longer just a prim flat now textured and chunky big buckles and even wedge heels.
- It’s the ankle strap that defines the style.
- Platform heels are a strong trend this season
- 90s return!
- One of the fall trends is shearling - can be folded down or up for more coverage on the leg.
- flat, chunky and skinny high heels all work
- Fits well with the mini skirt trend that’s still around or over jeans

What You Need To Know Before Buying A Carry-On Bag
[bc_video video_id="6312223806112" account_id="2226196965001" player_id="rkljM4WDEg"]
If you’ve travelled recently, you may have noticed the added restrictions on your travel luggage. Especially if you’re traveling with a carry-on, you should make sure it's the right size and meets all the regulations. We've done the work for you so you'll know exactly what to look for when shopping for a new carry-on.
Carry on sizing
- Compare the 2 sizes of carry-on bags
- Up to 22” vs 23”
- One inch makes a big difference
- 20” & 22” can fit small to large airplanes (almost any around the world).
- 23” only fits on large airplanes. Know how you plan to travel.
- Wheels are included in the dimensions allowed by the airline. Look for wheels that are tucked in. They last longer and don’t eat up space.
- If you are someone that likes to access their bag mid-flight, you may want to choose luggage with lots of closed compartments so nothing will fall out.
- If you are someone who does not need as much space, a great option is a backpack with tons of pockets or a small duffle bag.
- When looking for a suitcase lifestyle expert Shoana Jensen recommends polycarbonate or aluminum as they are built to last. However, aluminum cases can dent easily, which is something to keep in mind when looking for the perfect carry-on.
- Typically zippers and wheels are the first things to break on a suitcase. Choosing a case without a zipper may help the case last longer. Cases such as the Steamline Sweetheart Carry-on Collection shown below are a great option. These cases are not just durable but cute too!
- When looking for a carry-on try to find a case where the wheels are as close to the case as possible. This will help to prevent the wheels from breaking.
- Have fun with your suitcase! If you're not checking it for a reason, show it off at the airport and to your fellow travelers.
