You're the one that I want: 10 best love song duets

Valentine's Day is all about the twosomes, so we thought we'd celebrate the day with our favourite love songs sung by duos.

Valentine’s Day is all about the twosomes, so we thought we’d celebrate the day with our favourite love songs sung by duos. From romantic classics to movie faves, we’ve got your February 14th playlist covered.

Kermit & Miss Piggy – Rainbow Connection: While the original version of this Muppet classic was a solo Kermit number, his beloved Miss Piggy joined him in the version for 2011’s The Muppets. This is one of my favourite love songs of all time (and holds a special place in my heart because it was my “first dance” song with my husband at our wedding).

Ewan McGregor & Nicole Kidman – Come What MayMoulin Rouge is one of our all-time favourite romantic movies, and this beautiful duet from Christian (Ewan McGregor) and Satine (Nicole Kidman) is absolutely stunning. Both of their voices blend together beautifully, and the song’s “love conquers all” message is hard to resist.

John Travolta & Olivia Newton-John – You’re the One That I WantOh, that summer lovin’! It’s hard to not be charmed by Sandy (Olivia Newton-John) and Danny (John Travolta) and their attempts to win each other over at any cost. This song is fun, romantic, and also perfect for a karaoke duet.

Glen Hansard & Marketa Irglova – Falling SlowlyThese two beautiful singer-songwriters co-wrote and performed this charming song for the 2006 film Once. It’s a wonderfully understated duet, with Glen Hansard on the guitar and Marketa Irglova on the piano.

Emeli Sandé & Labrinth – Beneath Your Beautiful: British R&B singers Labrinth and Emeli Sandé’s voices work together in perfect harmony on this soulful number about breaking down barriers and seeing one’s true inner beauty.

Michael Bublé & Sharon Jones – Baby (You’ve Got What It Takes): This cover song from Michael Bublé’s sixth album is our current favourite version of this fun back-and-forth number. Sharon Jones of the funk-soul band Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings riffs off of Bublé perfectly and the two just seem to be having a ball singing this groovy tune together.

Sonny & Cher – I Got You Babe: It might be a bit dated, but we’ll always have a special place in our hearts for this classic twosome song. Just like “You’re the One That I Want” this song would also make a perfect Valentine’s Day karaoke number!

She & Him – You Really Gotta Hold On Me: Actress and singer Zooey Deschanel (the “She”) and musician M. Ward (the “Him”) are at their best in this stripped down cover of the iconic Smokey Robinson & The Miracles song. With nothing more than their voices and M. Ward’s acoustic guitar, they manage to sweep us off our feet with their raw emotion.

Frank & Nancy Sinatra – Somethin’ StupidThe first (and only!) instance of a father-daughter number one hit in America was this sweet cover song performed by Frank and his daughter Nancy in 1967. We also love Robbie Williams & Nicole Kidman’s version from 2001.

Beyoncé & Jay-Z – Crazy In LoveOkay, so maybe this is more of a dance song than a love song, but it’s still super fun and may get you and your beau “in the mood” in a different way! Plus, we had to include this duo since they’re a real-life couple!
