There are a lot of things I haven’t done as host of Cityline. The Edge Walk at the CN Tower (thank goodness), a show with no hair and makeup (THANK GOODNESS) or hung out with an African porcupine. So I crossed that last one off my list.
Sea World came to visit yesterday and brought with them an otter, a Tawny frogmouth (it’s a bird), a marten (really fast), a husband and wife penguin pair, and an African porcupine (beautiful beyond words).
Any casual viewer can tell I am not a pet owner. Sure I feel comfortable around dogs and cats but between me and you, I was NOT trying to pet the porcupine. In any case these animals can teach all of us a lot about conservation and empathy. And if nothing else, they are lovely to look at! Catch the full episode next week Wednesday, February 6 at 9am.
What you won’t see is the penguins going poo right before the taping or their handlers chasing them as they high-tailed it out of the studio before the promo. Television gold, really.
