Diaper animal how-to:

1. To make a diaper animal, start by rolling up diapers individually, using little clear elastics to secure them.
2. Once you’ve rolled up the diapers, group them together into various shapes such as circles or squares, and secure those shapes using string or ribbon.
3. Then stack or otherwise combine the shapes to create the final character you want.

Tips:

1. Create your diaper animal on top of a cardboard cake base so the shape doesn’t distort whenever you need to move it.
2. Use baby items to decorate the animal such as soothers, toys, hats, and socks, and consider rolling washcloths and receiving blankets to create portions of the animal.
3. Keep the empty diaper boxes, and pass them on to the mom-to-be so that she has something to store the diapers in after she takes the animal apart.
