Here are 4 beautiful cocktail trays that you and your family can make in your very own home. Add a unique sense of style to your home with these simple DIY instructions.

Cabinet Door Tray

Materials & Tools

  • Kitchen cabinet door
  • Cabinet handles (2)
  • Decorative wrapping paper
  • Decoupage glue or similar coating glue
  • Scissors and straight measuring tool
  • Putty / wood fill
  • Sand paper
  • Drill
  • Paint and painting tools
  • Plastic spacers (4)

Instructions:

  1. Remove cabinet handle / knob and fill holes with putty / wood fill and sand till smooth
  2. Paint perimeter / door frame and back side
  3. Cut paper to fit inside door frame
  4. Glue and coat paper to door with brush – and push out any air pockets / bubbles
  5. Repeat glue / coating for a more durable finish
  6. Drill holes for new cabinet handles
  7. Secure new handles
  8. Secure plastic spacers to underside of tray

Picture Frame Tray

Materials & Tools

  • Picture frame
  • Press board (1/4 inch thick)
  • Screws and drill
  • Cutting tool for press board
  • Vinyl placemat
  • Scissors
  • Drill
  • Paint and painting tools

Instructions:

  1. Take apart picture frame and discard glass front and cardboard backing and save frame
  2. Cut new backing board for tray to secure to frame perimeter
  3. Paint frame and backside of backing board
  4. Cut placemat to fit inside frame
  5. Place placemat in frame and secure new backing to backside of frame using screws
  6. Optional – glue vinyl placemat to backing board
  7. Optional – secure new handles to sides of frame

Art Panel Tray

Materials & Tools

  • Wood panel art board
  • Acrylic panels (used for backsplash boards)
  • Scissors and straight measuring tool
  • Cabinet handles (2)
  • Glue
  • Drill and screws
  • Paint and painting tools
  • Plastic spacers (4)

Instructions:

  1. Screw front board into frame for additional support / strength
  2. Paint backside and frame of art board
  3. Cut acrylic panel to fit inside art board and glue in place
  4. Drill holes for new cabinet handles
  5. Secure new handles
  6. Secure plastic spacers to underside of tray

Cutting Board Tray

Materials & Tools

  • Cutting board (used cutting board)
  • Sand paper
  • Cabinet handles (2)
  • Drill
  • Food grade mineral oil and sponge
  • Plastic spacers (4)

Instructions:

  1. Lightly sand cutting board (if used)
  2. Drill holes for new cabinet handles
  3. Coat cutting board with mineral oil and let dry for 48 hours
  4. Secure new handles
  5. Secure plastic spacers to underside of tray
