To help you prep yourself and your cars against the cold and climate of the True North and Canadian Winter Roads here are my tips for preparing for winter roads!

The Basics:

When it comes to Canada, we all know that most of us are battling lots of snow, ice, slush, the works! So you need a set of tires that has the mountain peak and snowflake symbol meaning it’s been tested and approved for winter driving! When the temperature drops and the road is covered in snow, a winter tire helps you retain traction.

Other important things you need in winter:

• washer fluid, make sure your windshield washer reservoir is full.
• Windshield wipers: change your wiper blades to winter blades. They are heavier and push snow and ice more easily.
• And of course, Winter floor mats make keeping your car pristine a breeze!

How to prepare for a long holiday drive:

You want to do a Battery Test.  If your car is over three years old, it might not necessarily need a new battery, but testing it is quick & will save you a WORLD of pain. You don’t want to find that halfway through your trip… your car won’t start! Another important thing to do in general is to Lubricate your Hinges! This helps prevent the impact of rust as we deal with all that extra salt on the roads and prevent ice from bonding rubber to metal doors.

• Snowbrush
