- Dowels (2 or 4 feet long)
- Mini saw
- Hot glue gun
- Extra strength glue sticks
- 3 Wooden trays
- Self stick casters
- Leveler to ensure flatness
Here’s how you do it:
- Cut the dowels to size. You’ll want this cart to stand at just over 2 feet tall, so trim your dowels accordingly using your hand saw. Cut 3-4 dowels for each side, and glue the shelving in place.
2. Stabilize the trays that will be your shelves by using something in your home that is the same height as the spacing of your shelves. Storage boxes, paint cans or empty planters are good items to use for this.

3. Once your shelves are spaced and stabilized, you can start gluing on your dowels. Using a combination of hot glue and glue sticks with extra hold are best for this. You really want to make sure your shelves are firmly attached. Start on the corners, using the level to make sure the shelves are straight. Once your corner dowels are in, then you can start gluing on the other dowels on each side and eyeing the space in between the dowels to make sure they’re even. Leave at least one side without
dowels for easy access.
