Will EVs save me money in the long run?
We know EVs are super expensive! But according to Jodi at AutoTRADER, they don’t require nearly as much maintenance. No oil changes, no transmission to worry about and best of all, no gas! Never going to the gas station again sounds awesome to us!
If you’re thinking about going electric, we put together a list of 3 electric vehicles which have different features and have different price points. We know everyone’s needs are different, but don’t worry, there’s an electric car for everyone.
The 2020 Porsche Taycan 4S
This car is a full electric vehicle and it’s what Porsche calls one of their more affordable cars at a little over $119,000. We know that this is bank-breaking for some, but if you can afford it, it’sfabulous. It’s a 4 door sports car which adjusts it’s driver’s seat and steering wheel to the driver, which can feel downright magical. The entire front dash is digital, which is super high-tech, but a lot to fiddle with while you’re trying to drive. Defititely take time to familiarize yourself with it before you hit the road. The gear shift is actually a switch at the right side of the steering wheel, with a button to park.
Overall, this car is super sleek and luxurious, and great for those that prioritize style in their ride.
The 2020 Toyota Rav4
This car is way more affordable than the Porsche, priced between $25,000 and $35,000. It’s actually a hybrid vehicle, meaning it’s both electric and fuel powered, which allows you a bit of versatility in how you fuel your car. The regenerative braking system charges the motors as you drive, meaning there’s no need to plug it in! It’s incredibly spacious and can comfortably fit 5 people, with a ton of trunk space to boot. This vehicle goes from 0 to 100km/hr in 8 seconds. Va va vroom! As a bonus, the steering wheel is heated!
This car is great for those of us with families. It’s the most affordable car on the list, and is super spacious.
The 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E
Another fully electric vehicle, this car is also very spacious. It’s a bit pricier than the Rav4, coming in between $43,000 and $61,000. One cool feature is that it doesn’t have traditional door handles or locks. You set a passcode to get into this SUV, and push a button to pop the door open. It has a huge vertical screen up front, where you can access almost all of the functions. This car is also super easy to drive. It has safety features we’re all used to and when you let go of the accelerator the car brakes until you’re ready to go again.
This car is a very practical choice with great safety features and is awesome if you value safety and familiarity in your car.
Electric is the way of the future. They’re better for the environment, you can ride in the multi-passenger lane all by your lonesome and you never have to pay for gas again. This is an investment worth making, for both yourself and the planet!
