When you think about getting crafty with pumpkins you usually think Jack-o’-lantern, but it’s too early for that! Here is a pumpkin centerpiece DIY that’s all about decorating with what we’re thankful for – seems pretty perfect for this time of year!

- Faux pumpkin
- Inkjet Printer
- 8.5 x 11 standard printer paper
- Mod Podge matte glue
- Scissors
- Foam brush
- Lacquer clear finish spray
Since we all store our photos on our phone or camera, we never get to enjoy them as a family, so this is a fun way to incorporate the photos into your seasonal décor.
How To:
- Print the photos of your choice in colour or black and white on standard printer paper using the Canon Pixma inkjet printer.
- Cut out each photo with scissors or a paper cutter (Note: if you are using a small pumpkin, scale your photos to a small size to avoid a lot of creases during application. The larger the pumpkin, the larger the photo, but smaller photos are easier to work with)
- Using a foam brush, apply a generous amount of Mod Podge glue to the faux pumpkin in an area larger than the size of the photo you plan to adhere.
- Place the photo onto the glue, and using the foam brush, gently smooth the print-out on to the surface.
- Once in place, apply another generous amount of glue over the photo (it will dry clear).
- Continue to adhere photos on all surfaces of the pumpkin until complete covered and allow to dry thoroughly.
- Once dry, take outside and apply a smooth coat of Rust-Oleum Specialty Lacquer to seal all surfaces and give the pumpkin a high gloss finish.
- Allow to dry.
- Using Canon Creative Park, print a free printable gift tag of your choice and attach around the stem of the faux pumpkin and write a Thanksgiving message or guest names to be used at place settings.
