Clean Pathway Entrance

Defining a clean pathway is crucial but you should let your tailored area seamlessly blend into nature, especially at the cottage. The landscaping should be  something low maintenance.

Wood Choice

We added cedar pergolas and decking to both the rear and front to add warmth.  Because we care about the environment – we went to British Columbia and replanted the trees in the forest.

Roof and Garage

A raised seam steel roof adds both strength and modernity and when coupled with the dark grey paint, stone chimney and timber details is the perfect topping to this natural modern home recipe. A new garage door equals modernity and this one has frosted glass panels so that it lights up like a giant lantern at night creating a wonderful warm glow.

Front Area

Moving to the front section – cladding the chimney in granite echoes the Canadian Shield stone found in the area and feels natural. Texture works outdoors as well as indoors.

Exterior Colour Scheme

Changing the colour of the siding makes a huge difference to the exterior.  A change of colour from insipid pale blue to strong grey – Benjamin Moore Wrought Iron immediately updates and creates a building that blends into the trees harmoniously when viewed from the lake. Black framed windows look amazing and super modern – enhance them even further with black blinds that compliment the dark look – this enhances the stealth nature of the home and helps blend in.
