Pre-Workout Beauty Tips
Before your workout make sure to apply some dry shampoo to your hair. This will help absorb the sweat and the oils before it actually occurs.
When it comes to pre-workout makeup – stick to foundation and keep it simple! There’s nothing worse than your face sliding off! Start out with a concealer that’s self-setting and only dab it places that you actually need it. Next get a lip stain or a little bit of cheek colour. Realistically you’re not going to need the cheek colour but if you feel like you need a bit of blush before going to the gym, a lip stain or cheek colour would be a really good idea. When it comes to framing your eyes, brow gel is really important. No colour is necessary, just use a clear brow gel to keep your brows in place. Last, but certainly not least – mascara is a good idea but make sure it is water resistant or waterproof because no one wants to look like a panda post-spin class.
Hand Care for Gym Goers
If you like incorporating a little bit of weightlifting or boxing into your routine you shouldn’t have to sacrifice your hands to do it. You may be experiencing dry, callused, chapped hands. Try using a deeper and thicker hand cream both before as well as after your workout! You may also be experiencing chipped nails or ragged cuticles. Consider an extra coat of top coat if you’re not doing shellac manicures or LED light manicures. You might also want to pop on a ton of cuticle oil – again both before and after your workout just to give you a little bit of nourishment!
Post-Workout Beauty Tips
For your hair, blast your roots with a blow dryer before you apply your dry shampoo. There is nothing worse than having a mess of dry shampoo and sweat – it kind of creates a really gross paste! Then go ahead and spray your roots with your dry shampoo. If you have time, use a round brush but if you don’t move onto the face!
This is the perfect time for micellar water and facial wipes, this is going to ensure a super quick yet thorough cleanse to your skin before you launch into the makeup.
Apply a hydrating mist before applying your moisturizer to get that extra boost of hydration which you might have lost during your workout. If you want to add a quick pop of colour to the face, use a multi-purpose product that can be used on the cheeks as well as the lips you can even add a little bit on the eyes if you want to and that’s a quick, easy way to get that colour! Last but certainly not least pop on a little bit of mascara, and then a little bit of brow gel to set your brows in place and make them look a little bit neater and you’re good to go!
BONUS TIP: Post-Workout Cooldown Session
If you’ve carved out the time, it would be a great idea to have a little bit of a cooldown session, especially because your body temperature has risen due to your workout. So this might help you sweat a little bit less when it comes to applying your makeup and fixing your hair after the workout. A bonus is you can take a few moments out to just relax!
