Ice Bucket Planter

A few quick and easy steps to turning an ice bucket into a brand new flower bucket. These are the materials, tools and instructions you will need.

  1. Remove handle from ice bucket
  2. Drill hole thru ice bucket where handle was attached
  3. Spray paint bucket – I used white paint to help make the greenery pop with color
  4. Cut a belt to create a new handle
  5. Drill thru ends of belt
  6. Secure new handle (belt) to bucket with shoelace or leather string

 

Shopping Bag Planter 

Create and new pattern and texture for a brand new planter bucket. These are the materials, tools and instructions that you will need.

  1. Cut cross pattern from plastic shopping bag
  2. Fold up sides of cross with adjacent pieces and sew and repeat for all sides
  3. Turn sewn assembly inside out
  4. Fold over top edge inside box / planter

  1. Cut four pieces from flat stock – to create a box – with equal sides
  2. Measure circumference or diameter under lip of terracotta pot
  3. Cut hole thru one piece of flat stock (top piece) – circumference or diameter taken from under lip of terracotta pot
  4. Sand all cut edges
  5. Secure pieces of flat stock with screws in box shape with cut out piece on top

 

Faux Leather Planter

Faux leather planter is one of the most unique house planter buckets you can have in your very own home. These are the materials, tools and instructions that you will need.

  1. Trace a circle on back side of vinyl
  2. Cut out circle
  3. Fold in half and mark folded line on back side of vinyl
  4. Keeping circle folded in half, now fold ½ circle into three pie sections – it’s best to have the pie shapes equally sized
  5. Mark folded lines on back side of vinyl between pie shapes
  6. Lay vinyl back side up and draw straight lines around each mark – creating a hexagon 6 sided shape
  7. Cut out hexagon from circle shape
  8. Draw lines to opposite corners of hexagon – three lines
  9. Cut along all 6 lines from outer edge inward – length of these cuts will depend on size of your planter – approximately ½ the length from the outer edge to the center
  10. Fold over loose sides of hexagon inward and overlap with adjacent sides and secure in place by sewing a button with overlapping sides
