Swap out mayonnaise and substitute in avocados when making your next sandwich or wrap. This saves on calories and “bad” fat!
Avocados are technically classified as a fruit and are a “must have” in your diet. Rich in monounsaturated fats called oleic acids–avocados have been shown to be heart healthy as well as beneficial in reducing cholesterol and inflammation.
Providing an excellent source of fiber, avocados help to balance blood sugars, promote weight loss and increase satiety (i.e. keeps you fuller longer!). In fact, a 100g serving of avocado contains a whopping 7g of fiber!
Do not be hesitant to incorporate ¼ of an avocado into your daily diet. To add creaminess, add avocados to your morning smoothie, or slice into a salad or wrap. You can also make a delicious guacamole dip and enjoy with vegetables or baked chips.
