Cement planters can make or break your garden decor, but they tend to be expensive to buy. Gardening expert Carson Arthur shows you how to achieve a beautiful garden without breaking the bank with these simple and inexpensive DIY cement planters!
Materials:
- Mortar (otherwise called portland cement)
- Water
- Gloves
- A bowl
- A piece of fabric
- Scissors
- A bucket (the bucket should be the same size as the planter you wish to make.)
Instructions:
- Cut your piece of fabric in a circle shape. Note: Avoid using a large piece of fabric as this project gets very heavy, fast.
- Put gloves on and remove any watches or jewelry from your wrists.
- Mix the mortar with water to the consistency of pancake batter.
- Dredge the piece of fabric in the mortar.
- Place the fabric over a bucket or container and allow it to dry for 24 hours.
- Remove and seal with a spray sealant.
- Place your plant in your planter and enjoy!
