DIY: No-sew fringed clutch
Here are DIY expert Denise Wild’s instructions for a stylish no-sew fringed clutch made out of pleather. It’s wallet-friendly in more ways than one!
No-sew fringed clutch
Materials:
Pleather or other no-fray fabric
Hole punch
Suede cord
Fabric scissors
4 magnets
Hot glue gun

Method:
1. Use the hole punch to make eight holes up both long sides of the pleather. Keep the holes only on the lower two thirds of the fabric. The top third will be folded down as the purse closure. If your hole punch doesn’t give you perfect holes, use a pair of embroidery scissors to clean them up.
2. Cut eight pieces of suede cord.
3. Fold up the bottom third of the pleather, lining up four sets of holes on either side of the fabric.

4. Fold one piece of cord in half and thread the fold through the two bottom holes from back to front.
5. Bring the cord ends up through the loop, and pull them tight to close the loop.
6. Thread the remaining cord pieces through the remaining holes.

7. Cut a design of your choice on the top edge of the pleather. (This will end up being the lower edge of the upper flap.)
8. Glue two magnets on the front of the clutch and two more in corresponding spots on the upper flap.
