Are you taking part in our #100ActiveDays challenge? Our Cityline crew has committed to doing at least one active thing every single day for 100 days and we’ve now completed two weeks and are still going strong! What’s keeping us motivated best of all is hearing stories from you, our awesome viewers! We love how you’ve been sharing your stories and photos with us on Twitter and Instagram, and you can see some of those inspiring posts below!
This week we also received an email from a viewer in Brampton, Ontario who has been tracking her fitness in a clever and visual way for years! Here’s Carole G.’s story:
I use a little dollar store agenda to keep track of my fitness efforts (photo below). I like the kind that have a whole month on one page so that I can get more of the big picture. If I am very busy one week and don’t do as much exercise as I would like, I can try to make up for it in the following week or two. This way, I can feel positive about what I have done instead of guilty about what I have not done.
My technique is simple and fast: I record the activity that I did and the number of minutes that I spent doing it. If I go to the gym to exercise, I circle the date. I have an annual membership so I want to make sure that I get my money’s worth!
I try to do activities that are fun: attending gym classes where I like the instructor and know some of the participants so there is an opportunity to socialize; walking with a friend and chatting; walking alone listening to great music on my IPod; walking and exploring some of the many beautiful and interesting walking trails in my neighbourhood.
Do you keep track of your fitness on paper or with an app? We’d love to hear your stories, so send us an email at submissions@cityline.ca with the subject line “#100ActiveDays”!
To help keep you motivated to get moving every single day, scroll down to see some of our favourite tweets and Instagram posts that you’ve shared with us in week 2. Want to see your post here next week? Be sure to tweet or post to Instagram using the hashtag #100activedays AND include our handle @CitylineCA!
And if you haven’t started your 100 days yet, it’s not too late! Start your 100 days whenever you’re ready, and share your progress with us!
