We wouldn’t be celebrating 30 years without you, our loyal viewers! It’s been incredible reading all your best wishes, memories and congratulatory messages leading up to our 30th anniversary special. I compare Cityline to a televised version of Pinterest. It has interesting topics and a huge variety of useful information. The host is easygoing and easy to listen to. The guests on the show are always engaging and I go to the website frequently for recipes and tips/tricks etc. Thank you for having a great show on during the day amongst all the horrendous day time viewing. As a new mom-to-be on maternity leave, I’m so glad there’s Cityline.

Congratulations on 30 fabulous years! I am so grateful to have had the privilege to have been able to participate in the 10-for-10 Challenge with Stephanie Joanne and Tracy (Sept-Dec 2012). The challenge not only changed me physically, but mentally as well. I learned how to create realistic goals and challenge myself to see where I could go. I will never forget the amazing group of women that participated in the challenge, the inspirational talks from Stephanie Joanne and our surprise visits from Tracy.
I have to say thank you for allowing me to find myself again. Keep doing what you are doing and congrats on 30 years!!

Wow, where to begin. I first recall the first host of Cityline Dini Petty. Dini’s style was always more like a reporter and she taught us all the most up-to-date fashion and home decor. Marilyn Denis took over from there and for many years our living rooms were filled with the soft and gentle woman who loved to eat, not so much cook, and we heard about her great relationship with her son and her great cottage. Now we have the fashion-forward Tracy Moore. So great to hear about her family, kids and her love of healthy living.

Two fun memories from years ago…
1. I had my 1st baby in April 1998. I was tired, haggy, drawn, sleepless…and PRAYING for a makeover! My girlfriend, Shari came in from B.C. (looking gorgeous as ever) and I arranged for us to come down for Fashion Friday. She didn’t watch Cityline so I explained my love of the show and all about the makeovers that I was absolutely sure I would get picked for knowing the before and after would be extreme and incredible…hormonal mess to diva glam queen!! Shari had just had her hair done, looked like a cool million dollars, was not interested in a makeover and got picked!! My pregnancy emotions almost did me in that day…..although very happy for Shari, I was devastated!!
2. My mom and I took the train in from Burlington for a mother/daughter day of fun, fun and more fun…our treat to ourselves for Mother’s Day, I believe. Our plan was to get to Cityline, go for a lovely lunch and then spend the day at the Eaton Centre. The giveaways were so good that day, we had to take the train back to Burlington, offload all of our goodies and go shopping locally! It was an amazing day and we we thrilled with the change of plans and treats!!
We are serious Cityline fans. Always have been / always will be. Thank you to your entire crew for providing us with such wonderful shows.

I’m a big fan of Cityline!
My fondest memory goes back about 20 years when I was in the audience for a taping of Cityline.
The guest experts were Hartley Strauss and Ray Staples. I had just moved into a new apartment and was decorating. Because I had a decorating question and fabric samples, I got to ask my question on air! My question was – can I mix a floral fabric (cushions) with a striped fabric (couch).
Well, Ray had a lot to say about that! She said yes, of course, as long as both fabrics shared the same colours. Lucky for me, they did. Then she suggested that I might want to create an outdoor/nature feel in my living room by painting my walls green and my ceiling blue!! I decided not to go quite that far, but I happily went home and placed my floral cushions on my striped couch!

My most memorable segment of Cityline occurred in its earlier years.
On this day the design panel which included Brian Gluckstein (before Brian became a celebrity designer) were taking questions from the audience. The audience member was seeking help in decorating a small powder room in a her rental unit. A floor template of the washroom was provided and it was not much bigger than a bath mat. With that Brian got out of his seat and with the template on the floor he tried to figure out, through demonstration, how one could ‘contemplate’ on the toilet in this restricted space. He really could not get his head around this confined space. His body contortions and his witty and humourous words had everyone in stitches. I will never forget this segment.

Omg, 30 years already! I remember watching the very first show with Dini Petty. I had phone in a few times during her term with Cityline. Then I enjoyed watching and coming in for a show or two with Marilyn Denis. Was sad to see her go, but I told Tracy Moore that I thought she would be a great fit to the Cityline crew. I would have to say I was right, she is doing a fabulous job. I even was lucky enough to get a makeover and the girl I was with that day won a beautiful diamond necklace. Cheers, here’s to 30 more years.

Congratulations on 30 years! I am a die-hard fan of the show. I started watching when Dini Petty was the host, so I guess I have been watching for almost the whole 30 years. I actually love watching every show. It is one of the highlights of my day. My PVR is set to record every show and I never miss one.
After watching the décor experts I have learned to do many of my own décor projects and took an interior design course. I have sponged, and dry brushed my house on many occasions. Many designers like Candice Olson and Steven Sabados started their careers on Cityline and you begin to feel like you were there with them from the beginning. I love Mary Dobson’s cute expressions like “white to the street” and “iron, iron, iron.” Even though we do not know them personally they have become like friends. All the designers that have been on the shows over the years have taught me so much.
Fashion Friday is amazing too. So many hair and makeup tips have been so helpful to me. Being introduced to new products and how to use them is the best. Recently Dino Dilio was using an eyebrow liner that is like a felt tip pen from Gosh. I have very blond brows and so that very week I went to Shoppers to try it out. One of the best products I have used and it was by watching Cityline that I became aware of it. My favorite hair stylist is Bill Rowley. He is so talented and funny. I always love it when he is on. Lynn Spence, Lisa Rogers and Sandra Pittana bring such enthusiasm and charm to the fashion shows you cannot be anything but inspired. Thanks girls.
Doctors Dixon and Gordon bring a great sense of honesty and openness to subjects that many find hard to discuss. So educational.
Many recipes from the chefs and food experts are staples in my home. I have even learned how to chop food properly, what some cooking terms mean and when you get to watch the best chefs cooking, you cannot help but learn some new techniques.
Tracy Moore has done an excellent job of stepping into some very big shoes (past hosts). She brings her own unique energy and finesse to the show that is so enjoyable. I enjoy her honesty and balanced approach to the show. She can be serious when needed and funny and relaxed too. She seems REAL and I believe that is her appeal. Keep it up, Tracy.
Cityline is like a constant friend you want to hang out with. You are educated, entertained and inspired. Thank you for all the hard work it takes to bring such and excellent show to your viewers. Keep up the great work. I LOVE YOUR SHOW.

My name is Sally Smith and I love Cityline and was there in the Chinook audience when you came to Calgary in 2012 I believe. I have watched your show for many years, have been in Calgary now from UK for 40 years and loved watching Marilyn and now of course Tracy. We are painting again with Benjamin Moore paints Cloud White now — my husband laughs often and says if Cityline recommends it it must be okay!
Love the makeovers and the artists that make people look so awesome. Keep up the great work and hope you come back to Calgary soon.

For as long as I can remember I have watched Cityline every chance that I could get. I have used so many ideas on saving and recycling while my kids were little and I was a stay at home mom that the show allowed me to stay home just a little bit longer with them.
As a paint consultant now I find your show invaluable for staying on top of the newest trends.

Ahhh… Mary Dobson, what a sweetheart. I could never relate to her passion of home economics but one day on Cityline she said, “Well if you hate ironing then you must not have a good iron… with the right iron the job is effortless, your iron should be light and glide across your garments blasting all the steam you need for the wrinkles to vanish and life will become much easier and you just might learn to love ironing!”
What have I got to lose! The next day I had myself an awesome expensive new iron that indeed glided across the garments and blasted the wrinkles away! My life changed. She was absolutely right, what a professional! I actually do my ironing now. Don’t get me wrong I don’t love ironing but it is almost effortless. No longer do I have an endless tower of freshly washed clothes stacked in the corner of the laundry room haunting me on a daily basis.
I have always thought about thanking Mary for this advice. I think she would be happy to know that we heed her advice…sometimes…
I’ve been a dedicated viewer of Cityline since my first child was born 30 years ago. Keep it up.
