Dave’s Faves for September
Anna Sui Beauty Collection ($34 each)
New York designer Anna Sui relaunches her signature beauty line this month with gorgeous packaging and the light scent of purple tea roses (a favourite of Anna’s — she buys these roses from a market around the corner from her home). The iconic Ring Rouge lip colours are limited edition — you’ll want to pick these up now because they’ll be gone quickly.
Estée Lauder The Metallics Fall Colour collection ($32 each for lipstick, $25 each for nail lacquer)
Metallic finishes are huge for fall, so Estée Lauder’s Creative Makeup Director Tom Pecheux created a collection of feather-light metallics with reflective pigments that every beauty lover is sure to admire. There’s a range of shades in the lipsticks from nudes to darks, all of which combine the coverage of a lipstick with the shine of a gloss. Dave’s pick is the rose gold nail lacquer.
Clinique Dramatically Different Moisture Lotion+ ($32 each)
One of the best beauty values when it comes to prestige products, Dave says. It’s less expensive than many drugstore moisturizers, and has been a top seller since its 1968 launch. The formula, which took six-and-a-half years to perfect, has just been reworked to make it even more hydrating and strengthening. An iconic skincare product.
Lancome DreamTone Serums ($110 each)
These customized pigmentation correctors work to erase dark spots, even the complexion, and add radiance. Dave loves that there’s one for light skin tones, one for medium, and one for dark — each addressing a skin concern specific to that complexion (eg. the light one corrects redness and inflammation, the dark one corrects ashiness).
Prada Candy L’Eau ($82)
Dave calls this a great workplace fragrance for fall — lightening up the caramel scent that made Prada Candy famous back in 2011, this interpretation has notes of citrus and flowers.
