Dallas Buyers Club is the second film in as many years to generate Oscar buzz for Matthew McConaughey.
Many thought the actor was snubbed by the Academy when he failed to receive a supporting nod for his role in Magic Mike — perhaps next year will be his year, as the glowing reviews continue to pour in for his portrayal of AIDS activist Ron Woodroof.
The usually buff McConaughey lost nearly 40 pounds for the role, joining the list of stars who have undergone dramatic weight changes for a film.
