3 things that can sabotage weight loss
Dr. Joey Shulman addresses her top three things women do that can discourage weight loss, and ways to keep success in mind.
Have you been following along with our 2013 Weight Loss Challenge? So many of our viewers have been reporting record weight loss, thanks to the challenge. But no matter how hard you try to stay on track, sometimes it can be all too easy to sabotage your own weight loss plans. Dr. Joey Shulman addresses her top three things women do that can discourage weight loss, and ways to keep success in mind.
- Quick fix or unrealistic plans don’t work. You need to identify a program that works for you. Dr. Joey says that people need to research and figure out what program will give you the most benefit–be it a low calorie or high protein shake, portion- and nutrition-controlled meals, alternate food delivery methods, etc.
- Beating yourself up. There is no such thing as failure on a diet–this is a process, not an “over-nighter,” Dr. Joey says.
- Eating too little in the start of your day and skipping meals won’t result in success. In her 7-day meal plan, Dr. Joey suggests some great breakfasts to start off your day that are quick and easy (i.e. whole grain toast and eggs, slow-cooking oatmeal, protein smoothie, cottage cheese, yogurt parfait, or microwave muffin). All are delicious and calorie-friendly.
